Oftentimes, wine distributors, wholesalers,
suppliers will offer special pricing
on wines that are made in very small quantities, wines that are highly allocated
because of intense demand or wines that are rare enough that the companies
will only bring in enough to satisfy the demand. This is a very tricky way of
buying
wine because there may not be any solid reviews on the wine and the customer
has to rely on the reputation of the winery and general reports on the vintage.
The up side is that there is always a significant savings from the "landed"
price
and in many situations this may be the only way to buy these very rare wines.
Since we will not be putting these wines on our shelves, they arrive and then
go out the door to your cellar, we don't mark them up as much. For the serious
collector this is the way to get highly sought after wines at the best price.
The rules are:
1) offers are very time sensitive, place orders
as soon as possible
quantities are typically very small and can sell out within a day.
2) once orders are received, they have to be confirmed.
3) once we've notified you that your order is
confirmed,
you have to pay in full. If the order has not been paid for
by 4:00pm on the deadline date, the order will be cancelled.
4) when your wine arrives, we'll notify you, you can come pick it up.
